Texas Prairie Furniture specializes in creating beautiful things from Texas hardwoods. The style of the furniture displayed here reflects elements of the furniture designed for "Prairie" homes by Frank Lloyd Wright and others (Texas Prairie Furniture is not associated with the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation). Some of the pieces have through tenons with contrasting wedges in the joints. The furniture is sleeker than many of the old Mission and Arts and Crafts pieces. Hardware is kept to a minimum and pulls on the case work are made from Black Walnut or other hardwood. The pulls reflect elements of the Greene and Greene designs of the same period. Other pieces depart from the rectolinear lines using the biomorphic shapes of the wood to make unique pieces such as the Mesquite coffee table. Please look through the sample items here. The furniture is made to your order.
